Busting Myths

Myth : Weight training makes a women bulky.
Fact : women cannot look like men even if they do weight training, as their biological structure is different from men. On the contrary it helps in toning muscle, increase your cardiovascular/muscular endurance, muscle strength etc.

Myth : Drinking water after or during food is bad for you as it slows digestion.
Fact : sipping water before and during meals can help prevent over-eating and helps in smoothly moving food through digestive system. Sipping water during or after meal actually help in digestion of meal.

Myth : Drinking water while standing leads to knee arthritis(knee problems)
Fact : when they say fluid imbalance and arthritis happens when you drink fluid while standing, I hope they mean Synovial Fluid, which is actually produced by synovial cells. While overall hydration plays a huge role in healthy production of synovial fluid, they don’t feel bad if u stand and drink water. They don’t feel happy either if you stand or drink water. What really affects synovial fluid production is inflammation, injuries, dehydration, trauma, lack of physical activity, obesity and so on.

Myth : Breakfast like a king, lunch like a Prince and Dinner like a Pauper.
Fact : Total calories intake in a day matter, whether you take that entirely in one meal or in more frequent meals. Breakfast not necessarily be the heaviest meal and even skipping breakfast is fine. Skipping dinner or keeping dinner light is also no solution for fat/weight loss. All you need for weight/fat loss is a calorie deficit diet, even dinner can be your heaviest meal.

BOTTOM LINE: Distribute your meals as per your convenience and calorie count not by following this myth.
